NOW, NOT LATER!

TIPS FOR PROCRASTINATORS

Picture this: It’s Friday and you have an essay due on Monday. It’s only Friday evening now but you’re exhausted so you don’t do it. Saturday morning rolls around and you’ve woken up late. You’re just not feeling productive so you watch some television. Suddenly, it’s Sunday night and you’re burning the midnight oil, rushing through the work only to get a passing grade. Does this sound familiar?

If you identified with the above situation, you might be a frequent procrastinator! Chronic procrastination can really lead you down a path of frustration and impact your overall health in the long run. Here are some tips to tackle procrastination!

To-Do List

Make a To-Do list. It sounds simple but it is the first step to identifying what needs to be done. You can take it a step further and assign a priority rating to each task. You can mark your essay with three exclamation marks to show maximum priority while folding the laundry might be of a lower priority. They are both things you need to complete, but labelling them helps you filter out what needs your attention first.

Optimum Hours

Some of us might work better at night, while others prefer to sleep early and start being productive at the crack of dawn. Observe yourself and identify your optimum working hours. Try to do the most difficult tasks when you are the most efficient.

Pomodoro Technique

Choose one task that needs to be done. Set the timer for 25 minutes. Stop working on the 25 minute mark and give yourself one tick on a piece of paper. Take a short break of no more than 5 minutes. Restart the timer again. When you reach 4 ticks, take a longer break of maybe 20 or 30 minutes. After this break, erase all the previous ticks you had and start again. This technique trains you to work in short intervals. It becomes easier to tackle a huge task if you devote just a bit of time to it consistently and with discipline.

Buddy System

In this system, people are paired and must then be responsible for each other’s wellbeing. You can use this technique when studying or doing assignments. Find a friend who might have trouble with procrastination too and keep each other on track!

SPACE EXPLORATION
WRITTEN BY AARON RICHE CABANA, IGCSE STUDENT

Billions of money is being spent on exploring space. Spaceships that are sent to space are already too expensive and are there to fulfill our curiosity about space and finding new planets and resources. But is it actually worth it?

Instead of wasting money on space exploration, money can be spent in a way that helps us with our daily life. Global warming is a very serious problem we are facing right now and I think that money should be spent on more important things such as reducing the risk of global warming.

Exploring space can be very dangerous as we do not know what is out there. The environment of space is very dangerous without the proper protection worn, as space lacks oxygen and pressure.

Exploring space can be good for us as well as we can find new resources for our planet and find interesting stuff in space. We’ll never know if there are other life forms out there if we don’t explore. We can also learn so much stuff from exploring space. But don’t go too far as space exposure can be very dangerous and lethal.

SEKARANG, BUKAN NANTI!

Buat senarai Perkara Yang Perlu Dilakukan.
