Happy International Friendship Day
Happy International Friendship Day
Friendship. It’s the invisible thread that intertwines us through classrooms, cities, group chats, and even across continents. Whether it’s your childhood bestie, a friend you made through gaming, or someone who makes school or work a bit more fun, friends have this magical way of adding joy, laughter, and effervescence to our lives.
International Friendship Day isn’t just another date on the calendar. It’s a reminder to celebrate the people who make our lives feel a little lighter, brighter, and better – no matter where they’re from or what language they speak. Because real friendships? They transcend borders.
One of the most profound things about friendship is how universal it is. A smile, a silly inside joke, a quick “you good?” and sometimes it’s the subtleties that resonate the most. At ILTI, we witness this every day. When students come together to learn a new language, they don’t just pick up new words, they build new friendships. They share laughter, support each other, and grow in confidence together.
So, what makes a friendship? Some say it’s trust. Others say it’s shared memories, silly adventures, or just being there when it really counts. The truth? There’s no one way to define it. And that’s what makes it so inimitable. Friendship looks different for everyone but the feeling of being understood, accepted, and cherished? That’s universal.
So today, let’s take a moment. Think of the ones who’ve cheered you on, made you laugh until your stomach hurt, or just quietly stuck around through your ups and downs. Let’s give them a huge thank you and maybe a tight hug (or a virtual one if they’re far away).
Happy International Friendship Day to the old friends, the new ones, and the ones we’ve yet to meet!
Words to learn:
Intertwines – to be connected so as to be difficult to separate
Effervescence – the state of being active, positive, and full of energy
Transcend – to go beyond the limits of something, especially in a positive or exceptional way
Profound – felt or experienced very strongly or in an extreme way
Subtleties – a small but important detail
Resonate – to be filled with a particular quality
Inimitable – very unusual or of very high quality and therefore impossible to copy
At ILTI, we encourage our learners to polish their language skills via real-life situations. We do not practise the chalk and talk approach – we learn and have fun at the same time. Join us today by calling / WhatsApp 010-395 3067 or email: info@ilti.edu.my.
