Did you know? 🎾 For a long time, tennis balls were actually black or white! They were changed to fluorescent yellow in 1972 so viewers could see them more easily on colour television.

Week 2 of Term 2 is progressing smoothly, with highlights such as the Movers class exploring simple sentence structures in Unit 8 and the Lower FCE class developing their storytelling skills in Unit 4.

This week marks the end of our Term 1 exams. Well done, everyone!

Through assessments in reading, writing, listening, speaking, as well as spelling and grammar, our students had the opportunity to demonstrate their learning and growth. At ILTI, we believe that true fairness in education means supporting each learner according to their needs, ensuring every child is given a meaningful opportunity to succeed.

At the same time, we are reminded that progress is not only about ability, but also about attitude. As Ms Evelyn shared, showing up every day, not just physically, but with focus and determination, is the first step towards making a difference in our own learning journey.

Our Upper CAE students have successfully wrapped up their Term 1 Writing Exam, showcasing their advanced skills in essays, reports and formal letters. Meanwhile, our Cambridge Young Learners (CYL) are building their confidence through practice tests covering everything from grammar to speaking.

Our holiday programme students found out this week during our Science Egg Drop challenge! From calculating force and gravity to designing protective structures, it was hands-on learning at its best.

But the brain workout didn’t stop there:

In this week’s newsletter, Ms. Evelyn shares a touching reflection on the spirit of Hari Raya and the beautiful Malaysian concept of ‘kosong-kosong’. It’s a reminder for us all to let go of old hurts, embrace forgiveness and live a drama-free life.

Meanwhile, Ms Caroline highlights the importance of strong collaboration between school and parents in guiding young people towards critical thinking, positive values and responsible citizenship.

Bringing this into the classroom, our Lower CAE students explored and discussed The Secret Billionaire, learning about the inspiring generosity of Chuck Feeney, while our Upper PET students engaged in meaningful discussions about Dan Price, the American CEO who took a pay cut to give more salary to his employees.
